6 Things to Make Your Day Luxe

  • Dr Nikki A Creber

Without intention, the day fills itself—appointments, medications, fatigue, distractions, and other people’s needs. By evening, it can feel like the day happened to you rather than with you. With Parkinson’s, intention matters more. Energy is limited, movement takes planning, thinking can slow, and transitions are harder. Without gentle structure, the condition can begin setting the rhythm.

Find your little luxuries and plan for them!

An intentional day isn’t about controlling everything. It’s about choosing a few meaningful anchors that reflect what matters most.

Ask: what matters today?

It might be connection, movement, calm, family, recovery, joy, community, or simply feeling like yourself. Let your day reflect those values, not just obligations. If connection matters, include a call or family time. If independence matters, plan movement. If community matters, add a local outing. If dignity matters, consider what helps you feel prepared and seen.

Small pleasures aren’t indulgences—they stabilise:

  • A cup of your favourite luxe beverage tea / cacao / chai

  • Enjoy the Sunshine - Vitamin D3 is important and lifts the spirit

  • Music - What is the one song that soothes your soul

  • Listening to the birds - Time outside reminds you that life still holds enjoyment and choice.

  • Take a walk

  • Use water - Run a bath, take a long shower, soak your feet

These moments remind you that life still holds enjoyment and choice. Plan them deliberately. Don’t leave them to chance—place them alongside medications, appointments, and exercise.

A planned luxury helps protect quality of life.
